Avoiding the One-Dimensional Hiring Process: Part 4

It’s all too easy to make the hire and feel finished with the hiring process. But, if you do, you're missing an essential element to keeping that employee happy and productive. So, be sure to focus on the last piece of the process:

4. Continuous Development for Retention
You must consider the other impacts of helping the employee continue to develop within the
company.
  • Do your employees feel integrated into the company’s success?
  • Do they understand where you are leading them?
  • Have you set personal goals with them during annual reviews?
  • Are you empowering them to make the necessary decisions?
Performing timely annual reviews, assigning the appropriate titles, involving them in company goals and offering professional development are all important to the employee’s happiness and, therefore, your retention.

In today’s world, finding and retaining good employees is proving to be competitive. Unemployed and employed are increasingly looking for new opportunities. Making the hiring process three-dimensional will save you and your team resources and stress while ensuring a good fit and attracting strong candidates for long-term retention.
